Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual exercise which includes religion and philosophy. It’s a practice people can do anywhere and anytime; as a result, has become very popular in Taiwan and many countries. Yoga is originated in ancient India and have different styles. The most popular one is Hatha Yoga which means Sun-Moon Yoga.
In Hatha Yoga, there is a series of poses called The Sun Salutations (拜日式).
It’s combined with several poses that is imitating animals or other things such as bridge and chair.
Let’s take a look at those amazing poses!
These poses are useful to release our back muscles. It can also stretch our abdomen and arm.
This one is very relaxing and can stretch our thighs.
The Wheel pose is very good for our health, for it can stretch our back muscles that we seldom use and open the acupoints (穴道) at the same time.
Baby pose is a good choice to relax our body after Yoga.
Fish pose helps to stretch our chest and back, stimulating our acupoints on the head at the same time.
Sleeping Swan is a difficult pose which requires certain degree of flexibility, but it’s a healthy pose to stretch our arms and thighs.
Bicycle is a good pose for people who wants nice shaped thighs and calves.
Mountain pose is the beginning and ending of The Sun Salutation. Just stand still and close eyes to relax.
Boat pose and Forearm Plank is focusing on training our abdominal core.
